RIP Mopsy

In Loving Memory of Mopsy. We will miss you!

We aren't sure why, but when we got up a few weeks ago our little bunny, Mopsy, had passed away. It was a sad moment. Rest in peace little guy and know we will always miss you!

Dog Day Dilemas - What to do?

With Halloween quickly approaching I decided to make something for Nikki to wear so she could go trick or treating with me and the children. I am in the process of making her a little red devil costume. I already have the horns completed and I am halfway finished with her cape. Here is a picture of her wearing her horns.
Cute, huh? She doesn't give me any problem about wearing them. As a matter of fact, I think she loves them!

She's learning the rules of the home really quickly now. Potty training was no problem. The biggest problem we had was her trying to chase the cats. Poor kitties. I couldn't find them for weeks after we brought the dog in! But Nikki is getting better about chasing the cats. When I catch her after one of them I make her lie down. She does as told and is learning when she is being scolded. Now I have to teach her that the mailman is not out to hurt us. :)

We all had a terrific weekend. As many of you may already know, my husband drives an 18 wheeler. We took Nikki to the truck yesterday. I had to pick her up to put her in. My back still aches from that experience. She loved it in that truck though! She felt so proud! She was such a happy doggie! However, we learned that she has a huge fear of heights. It took one person pushing and one person pulling to get her out of the truck! Once she was down, she was fine. Needless to say, I think I've found one of her fears.

When we left the truck we walked home. Nikki found a squirrel on the way home and decided that she was going to walk me for a change. She took off running with me running behind her trying to hold on to the leash. I'm not sure if I was hanging on to the leash to keep hold of Nikki or clinging for dear life. That doggie can run!

Nikki continues to be the best dog we've ever had. She's our baby and she knows it. She's spoiled now. As a matter of fact, as I write this blog, she is snoozing beside me. It's not a problem. She's keeping me warm on this chilly night.

I guess I had better wrap this up and go to sleep. It's 10:35 pm here now and I have to be up at 3 am to see the hubby off. He'll be gone for a few weeks. It's always a sad moment but we look forward to the next visit with him. Hope everyone has a great night! Hugs and kisses to you all!
