Batter's Up

So I got a knock on my front door this morning. I was having a hard time sleeping because I was so excited about going to see Eclipse today so I was already awake. I answered the door and it was my neighbor's son aka my son's best friend. He asked me to get Jacob because he had found a bat. Of course I was interested in this. I had never been up close to a bat before so this would be a new experience for me. I got Jacob up and we went outside to the tree that the bat was sleeping on. He was sleeping on the trunk of the tree, upside down of course, and was so small and cute. I was careful because bats are know to carry rabies, but I gently stroked the bat on it's back. It did not move. My neighbor came over and picked the bat up and held it. I held the bat for a while as well. It decided that it wanted to sleep upside down on my shirt. I thought that was adorable. Anyway, I just wanted to share my interesting little experience with you. What's the most exotic animal you've ever had the pleasure of being close to? Share your experience too! :)

Boycott BP Oil Company!

I'm sure you're all well aware of the crisis facing the gulf right now. My family and I have decided to boycott BP in an effort to voice our concern about the major crisis that has affected our ocean life in a major way. I am urging all of you to join our fight. BP has not only caused one of the most tragic events to happen to our ocean life, but they have also lied and mislead the government concerning how much oil was leaking into the ocean each day. Did you know they want the government to bail them out and pay for this disaster? No! BP should be forced to pay for this tragedy themselves. Want some facts about the spill and BP's lies and deceits? I've got a ton of 'em for ya! Click on the links for the full story.

1. BP lied to the government about how much oil was spilling into the ocean each day.
2. The oil spill has killed a massive amount of wildlife and ocean life.
3. BP and the government want the taxpayers (you and me) to pay for the cleanup.
4. The BP oil rig that exploded lacked the emergency shut off switch that many other companies have placed on their rigs.
5. BP makes false promises as to when the oil will be cleaned up.
6. Oil spill will effect the economy in a tragic way.
7. BP takes up dead animals before they can be photographed in an attempt to make the spill seem less disturbing.

Finally, I leave you with some images as to how bad this tragedy is. If you are an animal lover such as myself, these will break your heart. Please, please, join us in this boycott on BP. Your voice may be small, but it can be heard. Thank you all for being heroes!

RIP Isabelle and Nibbles

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I report that Izzy and Nibbles have both passed away. Isabelle got out of the house one day and was hit by a car. Nibbles was in a freak accident with my dog and couldn't recover. I will miss them immensely. They will never be forgotten.
